What this is
CSV settings control how trustMinder reads contact import files: which countries phone numbers belong to, and which column headings in your spreadsheet map to trustMinder fields.
These settings apply to your account. They do not change contacts you have already imported.
How to open it
- Go to My Profile.
- Open the CSV tab.
- Use the two sub-tabs: Region codes and Header mappings.
Region codes
Region codes are ISO country codes (for example IE for Ireland, GB for the United Kingdom). When you import contacts, phone numbers are validated and formatted only for the regions you list here.
If the list is empty, no region codes are configured yet.
Edit region codes
- Click Edit.
- Use Add region code for each country you send to. Choose the country from the list (the two-letter code is saved).
- Use the delete icon to remove a region you no longer need.
- Click Save, or Cancel to discard changes.
Add every country whose numbers appear in your files. If you only list Ireland, a UK mobile in the same CSV may not format correctly.
Header mappings
Header mappings tell trustMinder: “the column called X in my CSV is the same as field Y in trustMinder.”
The table shows:
- the CSV header (the column name in your file)
- an arrow
- the trustMinder variable (the field it should fill)
If several column names in different files mean the same thing, they can all map to one trustMinder field. In the table those alternatives appear joined with OR (for example Mobile OR Cell → phone).
If the table says no mappings are configured, imports will rely on column names that already match trustMinder’s expected headers.
Edit header mappings
- Click Edit.
- For each mapping:
- Enter the trustMinder field name (the destination).
- Enter one or more CSV headers exactly as they appear in your file (including spaces and capital letters). Use Add CSV header if the same field might arrive under different column names.
- Click Add mapping for another field.
- Use the delete icon to remove a mapping you no longer need.
- Click Save, or Cancel to discard changes.
Empty CSV header boxes are ignored when you save. A mapping is only stored if it has a trustMinder field and at least one header name.
Tips
- Copy column names from the first row of your spreadsheet so they match exactly.
- Save region codes and header mappings before you run a contact import.
- After changing mappings, import a small test file first and check a few contacts.
- Region codes and header mappings are saved separately — saving one tab does not save unsaved edits on the other. Click Save on each tab you edit.
